The Borgo


The "Mulino di Castelvecchio" is a beautifully renovated and uniquely decorated sixteenth century stone mill which can provide accomodation for up to three groups of travellers. It is located in northern Tuscany in a placid rural area near the city of Montecatini and a mere fourty-five kilometers from Florence.

The property consists of three separate buildings; the “Mulino” (the old mill) and two other small stone houses the "Vicinale" and the "Torrente", in the peaceful surroundings of the river valley and four acres of forest.
The flexible configuration of the structure provides both privacy and inclusiveness. It is an ideal choice for several couples or families who wish to travel and/or vacation together and retain their own living space, as well as being a seductive "home away from home" for larger family groups, a romantic retreat for vacationing couples and individual smaller families.

Each living space has satellite television, stereo/cd player and the possibility of telephone/internet connection.

An inviting swimming pool and terraced sun bathing areas have been created within the beautiful rock walls of the old mill pond, offering a tranquil point of refreshment for our guests in a unique, warmly intimate and peaceful setting. The river is enchanting. We are at the fork of two streams which at this point both have waterfalls, pools and little creek areas with sandy "patter-puddles". This fascinating environment provides days of exploration for children and adults alike, a safe and ideal location for youngsters “fishing” escapades, frog hunts, rock throwing and stone skipping contests, fantastic material for amateur and professional photography as well as extra, sun dappled shady hideouts for peacefully relaxing on hot mid-summer Tuscan afternoons.
