Coming from the direction of Lucca on "Autostrada A11" Pisa-Firenze. You must exit at "Chiesina Uzzanese". After toll gate turn left following the indication signs Buggiano and after 200 meters you will meet a trafic circle, keep left for ¾ of the circle and turn off right, passing under thebridge of the "Autostrada".

Coming from the direction of Firenze on "Autostrada A11" Firenze-Pisa. You must exit at "Chiesina Uzzanese". After toll gate turn left toward Altopascio. Follow the road and the bridge which passes over the "Autostrada", as you come off of the bridge you will find a turn off, take this sharp 90° turn, which takes you near to the other set of highway tolls (which you will see on your left). Follow the road straight to the traffic circle, keep left for ¾ of the circle and turn off right, passing under thebridge of the "Autostrada".

Follow the main road in the direction for "Borgo a Buggiano" until a roundabout or traffic circle (4 km from the "Autostrada" exit) and follow the direction for Pescia-Lucca (slightly around on your left). At the following traffic light pass straight through, entering the town of "Borgo a Buggiano" on its main street which is called "Corso indipendenza". Follow it right through the town and at the end keep to the right towards Pescia-Collodi, followiing the curve slightly up hill. At the intersection turn right (in front of you there is an old chapel painted yellow) and go under the under pass which crosses under the railway. At this point from the exit of the "Autostrada" you covered 4,7 km. Stay to the right until you see an older arched railroad bridge and just before it turn left following the road sign "Massa Cozzile". This marks the start of the provincial road N° SP 29 called "Colligana". The road climbs into the hills and you will pass the village called "Castello di Buggiano" on your left and continuing you will pass another village called "Colle di Buggiano" again on your left. Continue straight. After about 3 km from the start of SP 29 "Colligiana" you will see, a painting of a Madonna under a tiled roof on your right. The road which leads down to the Mulino is about 10 m (meters) before this on your left, just past a white building and before the guard rail. Proceed slowly as this is a very steep road. Follow only the asphalted road and at about 300m from the start of this steep road you will find the sign for "Mulino di Castelvecchio" in front of you. Continue for about 50m on the asphalted road and turn left into the white gravel parking lot of the Mulino.
